Went to Road Runner because my check engine light was on. They said that they cleaned my sensors, but the problem wasn't fixed so I went back. After the second time I went back my car went into limp mode, and instead of doing a proper engine diagnosis, they put 44K in it and said I would need new cats. I ended up going to a new shop and they diagnosed the problem in a few days. Going to this shop cost me my engine because they didn't want to do the proper things for my car.
Hi Trynitee, we’re sorry to hear you’re frustrated with your experience. We take concerns like this seriously, which is why we’d like to clarify a few details. During your visits, our technician performed multiple diagnostic procedures to isolate the cause of the misfire, including testing ignition components, swapping injectors, and cleaning/repositioning the fuel injectors. Those tests temporarily improved the condition but did not completely eliminate the misfire. Based on the results, we recommended a BG 44K treatment as the next diagnostic step because significant internal carbon buildup was suspected—not as a replacement for diagnosis. When your vehicle returned, additional inspection confirmed heavy carbon buildup inside the engine. At that point, further diagnosis and repairs were discussed, but our records show the vehicle was picked up before additional testing could be completed due to cost concerns. We understand how frustrating intermittent engine issues can be, but we respectfully disagree that our work caused your engine failure. We always strive to diagnose vehicles methodically rather than recommend unnecessary repairs. If you’d like to discuss your concerns further, we’d be happy to speak with you directly.
